We handle the hassle of researching, taking pictures, posting online, taking phone calls, answering emails, and meeting with strangers.

You get to go about life as usual, and we’ll call you when its time to pick up your check… it’s that easy!

We are known for carrying quality instruments and that goes for our consignment items as well.  You can feel comfortable that your guitar is in good hands while its displayed in our shop in Los Gatos.

How do I put a guitar on Consignment?

Simply bring the guitar to our shop during business hours. We will inspect it and come up with a fair market value, and help you decide how aggressive pricing should be.

There is no up-front fee. You can drop off the guitar and forget about it if you want.  However we do have a minimum fee of $65 should you decide to take it off consignment.  This keeps the quality of inventory high (no really cheap guitars) and covers costs in instances where the owner later decides they want to keep the guitar.

What is the Consignment Fee?

The Consignment fee is deducted from the final sale price of the guitar, and you keep the rest.

Our consignment fee is competitively set at 22%. There is a minimum fee of $65 (regardless of whether it sells or not—see above).

The fee drops to 17% when you put it towards a new guitar!

Get your kids into something a little cooler than video games! We have new student guitars and basses to choose from and they are more affordable than ever.  These starter guitars are brand new and made to last for years to come, but are also priced right for ‘testing the waters’.

Unlike the department stores, we check the action and playability before it leaves the shop so that the road to learning guitar is as smooth as possible. We’ll even perform a follow up adjustment months down the road to make sure its still playing as it should. We see way too many beginner guitars come in for adjustment, only to discover its makes more sense for the owner to buy a new guitar.

Acoustic Guitar Crack Repair Video

Watch below as Keith Holland of keith Holland Guitars who services the Bay Area, San Jose, Los Gatos and San Francisco area repairs an “acoustic-guitar-crack” that has traveled along the body sides.This video highlights the need to repair an “acoustic-guitar-crack” as soon as possible. Cracks can start out as tiny little annoyances, but can quickly grow out of hand, rendering a guitar unplayable.

The sooner you can get a crack repaired, the better.  A harmless looking crack in an otherwise aesthetic area can easily spread and threaten the structural integrity of the instrument. And if that’s not enough, as time passes the exposed wood in the crack oxidizes, which means that the repair will be more noticeable the longer you wait.

For best results, Keith recommends all “acoustic-guitar-crack” problems be brought in for repair within 24 hours whenever possible.

Cracked Acoustic Guitar Repair Video

Guitar Repair Videos Gretsch 6124 Archtop Bridge Install

Keith Holland repairs Archtop Bridge on a 60’s Gretch 6124 Archtop Vintage  Guitar.

In this video, Keith shows a Gretsch 6124 that is undergoing a restoration. When new, this 6124 originally came with an Archtop style bridge that rested on the top of the body. Somewhere in this guitar’s history it had holes drilled into the top for a Tune-O-Matic bridge to be installed.  Keith’s first step was to fill the holes with Maple dowel rod.

The next step was to shape the bottom of the bridge so that it makes a matching fit with the top of the Archtop. This is a little tricky, and Keith decided to make a video so you can see how its done in order to make a solid contact with the top.

1. Go EAST on HWY 9, and stay in the left lane.  HWY 9 will end at Los Gatos Blvd.

2. Take a LEFT onto LOS GATOS BLVD

3. Take a LEFT onto ROBERTS RD.

From 17 South:
1. Take Lark Ave exit and turn Left onto Lark
